7 Signs You Are Successful

We’ve all had days, weeks, months and maybe even years of dark days. Times when we fall into ruts of self-sabotage, loneliness or insecurity. Times that leading a happy, joyful life can sometimes feel like a chore.

While this is a normal feeling, don’t make it last too long. Find a way to see yourself and your life from a different perspective.

Don’t ignore the ‘little things’! Most of us are so busy trying to dodge life bullets, we forget to stop and appreciate the little victories. Just because you are not a millionaire, don’t live in a mansion and you don’t drive a fancy car, doesn’t mean you’re a failure.

You are doing a tremendous job at life. Living isn’t always an easy thing to do. It sure can be a lot more enjoyable when you start to see the good instead of focusing on the bad.

You could already be successful and just not realize it. Here are seven signs that is the case:

#1
You suffer less drama

Drama is not maturity. As you age, you develop maturity. Maybe your relationships were drama-filled in your past, but are you finding things more at ease these days? A lack of chaos and drama points to order and harmony. And that is pretty successful!

#2
You don’t seek praise

Seeking praise from loved ones and colleagues is something to grow out off in your teenage years. If you aren’t hanging around waiting to get that pat on the back at work or at home, you are more successful than you might even know. Being able to do your part without looking for praise is a strong sign of mental security.

#3
You are not afraid to ask for help

Asking for help does not equal weakness. In fact, it is a strength. No person has ever succeeded in isolation. It takes teamwork to accomplish goals. Asking or help is a sign that you have grown as a person.

#4
You can say ‘NO’

Look back to #2. This is the same ideal. If you are able to say ‘NO’ when necessary, then you have already overcome the need to please everyone. This is the sign of a successful individual.

#5
You don’t care what other people think

You know by now that you can’t please everyone. You know that the standards with which society judges people is unrealistic at best. So you just keep true to yourself and love the person you are. It doesn’t get any better than that!

#6
You don’t complain

Because you know there really is nothing to complain about. Most of what we all experience on a day-to-day basis is just mundane and you know that. You live in a space of gratitude.

#7
You are happy

This might as well be the ultimate definition of success: to be happy in all that you do. It doesn’t matter what the balance is in your bank account, how big your house is, or how many fancy vacations you take. If you are happy, then you are succeeding in life. Simple.

  1. Hoi Mirjam, heerlijk artikel. Ik leef ook positief! En elke avond schrijf ik mijn dankbaarheden op in een klein boekje om ze soms nog eens na te lezen. Voelt echt heel goed!
