‘Success consists of going from failure to failure
without loss of enthusiasm’

#32
Focus!

A determined mind is hard to stop. Commit yourself to a particular goal. Then pursue it with persistance and perseverance. Determine your priorities, make a firm commitment [especially to yourself] and pursue single-minded action to win. Then you realize your dreams!

#33
Keep on learning and growing

Life never stands still. Neither should you! You’ve got to continually challenge yourself to grow and learn. Or you’ll become obsolete. You will get left behind and before you know it someone else will have taken over your job, your clients and your live…

#34
Be a role model
You are a leader like it or not. People are observing your every move and learning from your words and actions. This includes your kids, your co-workers, your friends and even your spouse. You influence the actions of others and you reap what you sow! Therefore it is in your best interest to be a fantastic role model. Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does!

#35
Live healthy

Eating right and excercising is a good investment in yourself and your success. The little things you do now will add up to big wins later! Good health is essential to living life to its fullest. Healthy living is an investment that has a hundred-fold return.

#36
Enjoy what you do

What you do may take a lot of blood, sweat and tears [and caffeine], but at the end of the day you should be proud of what you did. A career is not a destination, it is a journey. So make it a journey you enjoy. You can only excel at tasks that you enjoy. Mind you: enjoyment does not mean that the task is easy…

#37
Be visible

The advice Sir Richard Branson got when he was building Virgin Airlines: ‘Make sure you appear on the front page and not on the back page. You have to get out there and sell yourself. Make a fool of yourself, do whatever it takes. Otherwise you won’t survive.’ And that is what he did. He got out there, made a fool of himself, appeared on the front page and we sure can say he survived…

#38
Prepare to take some risks

Be prepared to get knocked down. Success rarely comes from playing it safe. You may fail, but there is no such thing as a total failure. Get back on your feet again and carry on. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all!

#39
Stop your perfectionism

Believing that anything can be done perfectly is a ridiculous concept in itself, yet many people fall into this psychological trap. Nothing created by man is perfect nor will it ever be. All perfectionists have one thing in common. They all achieve nothing! They have ambitious goals, incredible talents and intense desire, but the fear of not performing perfectly stops them, forcing them into a state of panic and inactivity. Drop perfectionism. Go for excellence!

#40
Be willing to make mistakes

Make mistakes, bounce back, don’t fall down. Your decision will not always be the best decision. Everyone makes mistakes. The best thing you can do in the face of a mistake is uncover the problem and get to work fixing it.

#41
Add value

No matter what you do and where you go, you can’t go wrong with adding value. Simply put value to anything you do and to anything that people are willing to pay for. In your professional life, the more value you can offer the more money you can make. In your personal life, more value translates to closer relationships and strong personal growth.

#42
Follow your passion

Those who achieve greatness professional and personally follow their passion. The reason why great people are few and far between is because most people don’t even know what their passion is. And for those that do figure out their passion, most of them don’t follow their passion consistently. If you know what your passion is, follow it consistently!

#43
Inventory your successes

Curiously we remember our failures more than our successes. Automatic negative thoughts see to the job of recalling your disasters. And there is no equivalent automatic positive thoughts to remind us of our successes. So start your list. Maybe you think you’ve got nothing to write down. Everyone starts off thinking that. Add to the list over the months as you gradually recall events. Now everything you’ve done in the past is important. And more interesting will be your future successes. The next victory over yourself, the next time you beat a bad habit, the next time you move outside your comfort zone. Note everything down!

#44
Be extraordinary!

If you do the same thing as everyone else, it’s hard to be successful. Everyone else is pretty mediocre, right? Find the edge and then push past it. That is how you become noticed and get what you want. Whether it is money, meaningful relationships or a sense of personal accomplishment, the extraordinary person attracts it all.

#45
Start now!

One crucial factor that is required to become a success is taking action. Most people miss out on reaching their full potential because they never start. They are always preparing, planning and waiting for the best time to start. The stars rarely align perfectly and you will never be completely ready. So just start now and adjust along the way.

#46
Hunt for a good mentor

Mentors have gone down the road that you want to travel. They can guide you to get to your destination faster. If you want to be healthy, you would find a mentor who is already healthy. If you want to be rich, then you have to find someone who is already rich. If you want to be successful, be active about finding mentors that will help you achieve what you want.

#47
Build a support group

A support group is your companion that helps you with the actual execution of your plan. Think of a mastermind group where you keep each other accountable for your goals. It is extremely helpful to have a support group that is willing to listen to your frustrations and self doubt and to encourage you and remind you of how far you’ve already come.

#48
Be resilient

Things rarely work out the way you planned. There will always be distractions and stumbling blocks that you have to deal with when you are on your road to success. Remember to persist and to develop the courage to move on even when everyone around you is telling you it is okay to give up. When everything seems to be going wrong, keep in mind that ‘the road to success is paved with a thousand failures’. And each failure brings you closer to where you want to be!

#49

Identify your desires
Before you can develop persistence and eventually achieve success, you need to first identify your wants or desires. Simply write down specifically all the things you want to have or accomplish. List down all your desires and wants, no matter how impossible they seem to be achieved in the moment.

#50

Determine your why
Motivation comes from a deep reason why we want to achieve or have something. If you know why you’re doing what you’re doing, it gives you more energy to keep moving. And the bigger the why, the easier the how.

#51

Outline an action plan
When you know how to get what you want, it makes it easier to achieve it. Do some research and planning of what needs to be done on your part. Be specific on each step you need to take. A goal without an action plan stays a dream forever…

#52

Keep a positive mental attitude
In order to develop persistence and to eventually succeed, always maintain a positive mental attitude, regardless of situation. Keep your thoughts focused on taking action towards your goals. Avoid negative thoughts and feelings. They will ruin your concentration and persistence.

#53

Develop discipline and habit
‘Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.’ ~Jim Rohn
All your setting goals and planning will go to waste if you are not able to develop discipline and habit. There will be a lot of hindrances that will stop you from moving towards your goal. Without proper discipline, it will be easy for you to drift off. Upholding discipline and develop habits can help you stay on your course, even despite difficulties. Success is a habit, so get in line and stay in line!

#54

Don’t look back
Everyone has mistakes or failures from the past. To have success you have to learn from your past and value the lessons learned. Do not dwell on you past! Simply move forward and make better, more educated dicisions from the lessons learned.

#55

Dare to dream!
To succeed you have to have dreams and aspirations. Be honest with yourself. What do you really want out of life? Allow yourself to think and dream big!

#56

Turn your dreams into reality
Dare to dream, dream big and then turn your dreams into reality. You have the power to create whatever you dream of. Identify what your dreams are, turn them into a clear vision in your mind and then take action. Take the necessary steps on your way to your goal. Then your dreams and reality become one and the same. And dr. Seuss once even said once: ‘Reality is finally better than your dreams.’ You can make it happen!

#57
Never ever give up!

‘Victory belongs to the most persevering.’ ~Napoleon Bonaparte
To reach success you have to persevere. Keep striving, even when it becomes challenging! Perseverance is commitment, hard work, patience, endurance. Perseverance is being able to bear difficulties calmly and without complaint. Perseverance is trying, again and again.

#58
Have an unstoppable attitude

With good intentions, there may be a good friend or family member that thinks it would be better if you focussed your attention in another direction. People will say that it is ok to quit… Then you need to have determination! Uphold your unstoppable attitude. Be determined to succeed!

#59
Be happy

A positive mind and happy attitude will help you succeed. A happy woman generally gets much further in just about everything she does. This relates to attitude. Just as bad attitude can pull you down, good attitude and a happy, healthy mind will help you meet your objectives.
